Redmi as a sub-brand of Xiaomi has announced that it will release the Redmi Note 12 Pro series in India. Yup! Two models will be presented, namely Redmi Note 12 Pro and Redmi Note 12 Pro+, which will be launched on January 5, 2023.
Interestingly, Redmi also recently confirmed that it will be announcing the Redmi Note 12 5G at the same event. Redmi has in fact teased via microsite and revealed the main specifications of the Redmi Note 12 5G.
The Redmi Note 12 5G, successor to the Redmi Note 11, is said to be equipped with an AMOLED screen. Aside from that, this screen will also be decorated with a hole placed in the center of the top of the screen as a seat for the front facing camera.
The device has a compact form factor with the volume rocker and power button located on the right side. Yup! Even though it comes with an AMOLED display, Redmi still seems to like placing the fingerprint scanner on the power button.
Redmi Note 12 5G is expected to be the thinnest Note device ever. Meanwhile, the back panel has a rectangular camera module. Unfortunately, Redmi doesn’t want to reveal the chipset that will be built into the Redmi Note 12 5G.
It’s just that, Redmi has written that its latest mid-range smartphone will be powered by a 5G-compatible Snapdragon chipset. Apart from that, this smartphone will also come with support for 33W fast charging. There will be triple cameras at the rear, with a 48MP main camera.
Just FYI, Redmi previously launched the Redmi Note 12 5G in China last October. This smartphone has a 6.67 inch FHD + 120Hz screen. For the kitchen, it’s powered by Snapdragon 4 Gen 1, plus up to 8GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage, and a 5000mAh battery.
