Redmi 9A (2020): The technical sheet leaks and disappoints

The latest model in the new Redmi range to be still unknown to date, The Redmi 9A, has just seen its technical data sheet leaked via a commercial brochure in the Philippines. We could also, at the same time, have a first glimpse of the general design of the phone, very similar to that of the Redmi 9 launched a few days ago.

Everything for the price

The Redmi xA have always been the least powerful models in the series, but also the cheapest (apart from the Redmi Go). The Redmi 8A price, marketed last year, was around 16,500 DA for the 2/32 model and around 18,000 DA for the 3/32.

We therefore expect to see a Redmi 9A in the same price range, despite the many additions present on the latter.

Technical sheet

The brochure, which has everything of an official document, speaks of a screen 720p HD+ of 5,53’’ which leaves no doubt that it is an IPS-LCD. The front camera of 4MP, meanwhile, is encased in a notch in the form of a drop of water, quite discreet if the visual rendering is true to reality.

On the back of the device, there is only a single photo 13MP fitted with an LED flash. But the most striking thing is to note theabsence of a fingerprint sensor digital, just like on previous models … disappointment.

On the power side, don’t expect much from its MediaTek G25 8-cores, clocked at 2.0 Ghz. The latter barely manages to exceed 100k points sure Antutu, the same performance as a Redmi 7.

Only big positive point and common to the whole range of Redmi this year is the integration of a huge battery of 5.000 mAh, which coupled with this not very powerful processor, could give a autonomy far above the average.

However, there is strong doubt that it offers fast charging, especially if the phone is offered for less than 20,000 DA (100 euros) like its predecessor.
