sorae – Images of the night side of Venus taken by NASA’s solar probe surprise researchers

On February 25, 2021, NASA released an image of Venus taken by the Wide-field Imager for Parker Solar Probe (WISPR) during the Venus swing-by in July of the previous year. . That is the first image, and the night side of Venus seen from approximately 12,400 km away is shown on the left side of the image.
The image captures what appears to be airglow emitted when oxygen atoms in the atmosphere combine on the night side to become molecules, as well as the Aphrodite continent (dark area), which is a high-altitude region. .
*The temperature of Aphrodite continent is about 30 degrees Celsius lower than the surrounding area, so it appears dark.
Also, the many lines that look like scratches are thought to be caused by charged particles or dust reflecting sunlight.
