A photographer and videographer from Reims filmed the City of Coronations with his drone. Discover his video “Reims from above”.

Rabih Maamary divides his daily life between his position as a research engineer at the University of Reims and his passion for photography inherited from his father. Equally videographer and drone remote pilotthis adopted Reims recently challenged himself to make a video of the city of Reims in aerial view.

After “4 or 5 hours of filming” , signal vest on the shoulders and remote control in the hands, and without forgetting a few hours of assembly, the result is breathtaking. In just over 3 minutes, Rabih Maamary (re)discovers, in a different way, the symbols of the City of Sacred: the Cathedral, the Saint-Remi Basilica, the Place d’Erlon, the Auguste-Delaune Stadium…

Check out the video below:

After obtaining all the necessary authorizations to fly his toy, the videographer walked the streets of Reims and multiplied the shots. “Its not always easy, says Rabih. For example, when I was circling the drone around the towers of the Cathedral I had to pay attention to two things: the birds, and also make sure to always have an eye on the machine from my position. We are not allowed to watch only the video return screen.”

If Reims has already been filmed from the sky on several occasions, Rabih wishes to offer Internet users a more recent version of what his city represents. “seen from above”. “I lived for several years in the city center, and there have been many changes in recent years, such as the new Promenades”.

By posting this video on Youtube, Rabih Maamary also wanted to honor his city dear to his heart. Arrived from Lebanon a few years ago to complete his higher education, the photographer (amateur at the time) first settled in Dunkirk before settling in Reims 7 years ago. “This city has given me a lot of things, and I wanted to give it back by showcasing it”.

After a week, more than 1700 people have already seen the clip “Reims from Above (2022)”. Among them, the Mayor of Reims Arnaud Robinet also appreciated Rabih Maamary’s achievement by sharing it on his Facebook account.
