Redfall was among the games showcased during Wednesday’s Xbox Developer Direct. Arkane followed up with a longer presentation of the vampire game, with more information on how the experience works.

The 12-minute long video – which you can watch above – introduces the game’s titular island. According to the developer, this is the largest world the team has created to date, and either alone or with friends, players can explore everything from neighborhoods and suburbs to remote factories.
Each area is packed with vampires that must be exterminated to reach the ultimate goal of ridding the island of all monsters. In familiar Arkane style, there is complete freedom of choice for how to carry out missions, with, for example, stealth or more aggressive use of firearms.
Alongside shotguns, machine guns and pistols, Redfall’s four playable characters also have a handy selection of unique attributes. As you play, you unlock new abilities and tools via the game’s talent tree, with the option to adapt the experience to your desired play style.
The latest Redfall trailer also revealed the game’s release date. Launch is set for May 2, and you can play on PC or Xbox Series X/S. Redfall will also be available on Game Pass from day one.
