The online petition of a resident of the neighborhood: spotlights on ATMs, sidewalks and gardens
The petition launched on October 23 by a resident to ask for more maintenance and services in the neighborhood has almost reached 1,000 digital signatures. Because “Redecesio is also part of Segrate“, this is the slogan chosen for the initiative which started from a successful post on social media and then became an “official” mobilization. “I realized that many share my concerns and needs, I have lived here for forty years and despite the growth of the neighborhood, services to citizens have decreased and in my opinion there is less attention from the Municipality compared to other hamlets”, she says Tiziana De Angeliscreator of shared subscription on change.org and spokesperson for the “discontents” of Redecesio.
Among the requests present in the document, which is addressed to the Micheli administration, there is the situation of public gardens, urban furniture, sidewalks. But also the lack of services useful in particular for the elderly, not only in terms of transport. «Last year the only ATM there closed, you have to go to Esselunga, Segrate Centro or even Milan – says De Angelis – plus it would be useful to open the pharmacy more widely, today it closes at 7pm, just like it already happens in the municipal ones in other neighborhoods.” This and more in the cahier de complaints to be submitted to the council, already the recipient of De Angelis’ reports which also ended up in our “Citizen reporters” column.
«I tried to make myself heard, not with who knows what demands but with the request of greater care for some public spaces such as the gardens of via Reggio Emilia and via Milano which are in terrible conditions – says the resident – on some things, such as the lack of services such as the ATM, it is clear that the Municipality cannot intervene directly but only take responsibility for the our instances, on other situations However, we would like interventions as happens for example at the Centroparco where several new play and sports facilities have arisen: well, they’re fine but why not enhance the existing ones first?”. The objective of the petition, initially set at 500, has been moved to 1,000 signatures, now almost reached (at the time of publication of this article in the paper edition of the newspaper on November 7, there were 650 signatures, ed.).
«Let’s unite to improve the quality of life in our neighborhood – Tiziana’s invitation – we must not only complain but also move… I’m not interested in knowing who is to blame now or in the pastor, I would just like to see the same attention paid to other neighborhoods also towards Redecesio, we are all from Segrate”. A state of mind, that of Tiziana, which has found fertile ground judging by the social reactions – also to the mayor’s latest post dedicated to the Ambrosiano Village, which has collected several “replies” which urge him to shift his gaze to the others too hamlets including Redecesio – and the many online subscriptions. “I decided to write on Facebook and I didn’t think I’d receive so many comments, none of which were negative, but then I got the proof again live.”
A perception, that of insufficient attention towards the fraction, exacerbated by the celebrations in Milano2 for the acquisition of the agricultural Gulf. «It is good news that the city has a new public park, but in exchange for the construction of a data center in Redecesio on the former Cise – says the resident – it is an innovation whose future impacts we would like to know, and before thinking about new parks would be good to enhance existing spaces.” Notes to take into consideration for the council, which had announced a public meeting in Redecesio specifically to talk about the redevelopment projects being launched in the neighbourhood.
