Red Zone, Tembalang District Has the Highest Dengue Cases – Kompas TV

SEMARANG, KOMPAS.TV – Of the 16 districts in the city of Semarang, Central Java, the area that contributes the highest number of cases of Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DHF) is Tembalang District. In an effort to suppress cases of Dengue Fever (DD) and DHF, the Semarang City Health Office, and the Meteseh Health Center, Tembalang, held strengthening assistance.

The assistance was in an effort to eradicate mosquito larvae and control rats in settlements, together with residents of RW 2 Meteseh Village, Tembalang District, Semarang City, on Saturday (04/03/2023) morning.

Although cases of DD and DHF in Semarang City have decreased compared to last year. However, the health office continues to urge the public to be diligent in eradicating mosquito larvae (PJN), at least once every two weeks.

The hope is that there will be no cases of DD and DHF in Semarang City at all. In Tembalang District itself, currently there are more than 125 cases of DD and 26 cases of DHF.

“Dengue cases in Tembalang are quite high. That’s why the map (Tembalang) is the reddest,” said Abdul Hakam, Head of the Semarang City Health Office.

Mukti Setiawan, Head of the Rowosari Health Center, said that Tembalang District is number one for DB cases. Therefore, from the Semarang City Government, the health service and board members jointly mobilized the community.

“The first and most important thing in mobilizing the community is to be aware of the dangers of DB and work together to prevent it,” said Mukti Setiawan, Head of the Rowosari Health Center.

From the results of assistance in RW 2 Meteseh Subdistrict, Tembalang District, it was found that there were at least 109 houses monitored by PJN, 22 of which had mosquito larvae. From these data, the mosquito larvae free rate (AJB) is only 79 percent. This figure is far from the AJB standard, which is 95 percent.
