PRESS RELEASE
Red weather alert issued by ARPAE
for the Province of Ravenna
In relation to the red weather alert issued by ARPAE Emilia Romagna for tomorrow, the Prefect of Ravenna Castrese De Rosa has once again activated the Rescue Coordination Center (CCS) in the Prefecture which will meet with all the representatives of the Institutions this afternoon at 4pm involved in the adoption of the necessary preventive measures to protect the population.
The rainfall during the night between 17 and 18 October generated floods on some rivers with levels above threshold 2 and further widespread and persistent rainfall is expected for tomorrow, also associated with thundershowers of moderate-strong intensity which will extend from the south to east to west during the day.
Furthermore, new increases in hydrometric levels will be generated with possible localized exceeding of threshold 3.
The Mayors have already been invited to adopt all the measures envisaged in the event of a red alert, including the closure of schools of all levels and all other places of aggregation (cemeteries, recreational and sports centres, etc.).
Furthermore, they were invited to implement precautionary measures to monitor watercourses and all critical points, including crossings, affected by previous flood phenomena and to plan any preventive evacuations, where deemed necessary.
