From midnight to 12 noon today, the Observatory recorded 333.9 millimeters of rainfall. The cumulative rainfall in a single day has broken the October record. The previous record was when Tropical Cyclone Lion Rock hit Hong Kong in October 2021. At that time, the Observatory recorded 329.7 millimeters of rainfall in a single day.

The Observatory issued a forecast at 10:05 and changed the red rainstorm warning signal to 10:30. The Observatory issued a warning for black rain to turn into red rain this time, which is a rare move.
The small dog rainband brought heavy rain to Hong Kong. The Observatory first issued a yellow rain warning at 8:25 pm on Sunday (8th). It was changed to a red rain warning at 1:55am on Monday (9th) and then at 4am. At the right time, a black rain warning was issued. Since midnight, most areas in Hong Kong have recorded more than 150 millimeters of rainfall, with rainfall exceeding 300 millimeters in parts of Wong Tai Sin, Kwun Tong, Hong Kong Island and Lantau Island.
Special Flood Advisory, Landslip Warning and Thunderstorm Warning are currently in effect in the Northern New Territories.
In addition, Tropical Cyclone Warning No. 8 will remain in force until 11:40 am and will be replaced by Strong Wind Signal No. 3.

At the parking lot of Wan Tsui Estate in Chai Wan, flooding occurred in the early morning. The water was as deep as part of the wheel of the vehicle and even reached the soles of the feet. A car owner came to the scene and waded into the water to drive away the vehicle.
The MTR Corporation announced that due to the expected heavy rain, the following station entrances and exits are temporarily closed for protective measures:
