Manchester –
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer don’t worry Harry Maguire, Luke Shaw, and Scott McTominay absent when meeting Granada. He believes other players can replace the roles of the three.
MU will host Granada at Old Trafford in the second leg of the quarter-finals Europa League, Friday (16/4/2021) early morning. The Red Devils welcomed this match with a 2-0 aggregate advantage thanks to the victory in the first leg at Granada headquarters.
They just need not to lose by more than one goal to ensure a ticket to the semifinals. However, MU’s mission to get rid of Granada was a little disturbed by the absence of their three pillars in the match at Old Trafford.
Harry Maguire, Luke Shaw, and Scott McTominay certainly did not play due to card accumulation penalties. MU manager, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, revealed that this was clearly a loss for his team.
However, he remains convinced that other MU players will close the absence of Maguire, Shaw, McTominay. Solskjaer is forced to have to make changes in the line-up of MU players in situations like this.
Maguire’s position at the heart of the defense will most likely be filled by Axel Tuanzebe. Meanwhile, Nemanja Matic will replace McTominay’s role as anchor. For Shaw, Solskjaer seems to have prepared Alex Telles to play on the left sector of MU’s defense.
“It’s never a positive thing when we can’t play all the games. However, we have players ready to replace and get into the team,” he said. Solskjaer quoted from the official site MU.
“Obviously there will be a card bleaching after the quarter-finals so we hope to qualify. Even so, the referee can still easily give cards in the match later. We have to be ready to face it.”
“We have to make sure that we can qualify. I always choose the team to win games. There will be some changes; partly because we are forced to do it, some may be part of the rotation,” explained the Norwegian manager.
