Red Dead Redemption 2 has a new discovery involving boats

Red Dead Redemption 2 continues to surprise players even five years after its release. This time, the discovery involves boats guided by NPCs, which even though they are outside the limits of the map, have collision mechanics and autonomous routes.

In a video shared on Reddit that went viral among the community, a player is at the very end of the explorable part of the scenario and witnessed an accident. Two ships ended up colliding and sank, without Arthur noticing.

The interesting thing here is to see that even outside the playable area of the map, there is still a collision detection system and paths programmed for the AI. It would be very easy for Rockstar to simply make the boats disappear after exceeding the limits of the map. The clip, however, proves that the devs treat every detail with care.

This surprised several Internet users on the Red Dead Redemption 2 Reddit. Firstly due to the situation involving navigators, and then due to the possibility of driving a steamboat — many only discovered this feature through the video. Check it out below:

5 years and 3 play-throughs later and I’m still finding stuff I’ve never seen. Anyone else ever caught this…? (Watch the ships in the background)

Five years and three games later and I still see new things. Has anyone else seen this? (Note the boats in the background).
