Red Cross together with the co-organization of the Torremolinos City Council and the Malaga Law Tuna they have presented 1st Prickly Pear Solidarity Contest. Will take place on days November 5 and 6 in various parts of the municipality, among which the performance in the Municipal Auditorium and a solidarity dinner at the Cervantes hotel stand out.
It is solidarity event seeks to raise funds to help the relief work carried out by the Red Cross in the municipality and in the province. The beneficiaries of Red Cross aid have multiplied due to the economic crisis that has generated the social crisis as a result of the Pandemic and the cessation of many economic activities that have not yet recovered.
All the benefits obtained from the Contest will go to the Red Cross Respond Plan against COVID-19. Since March 2020, the Red Cross has served more than 66,000 people in the province with food, clothing, school supplies, health information, job orientation and aid to pay for supplies.
The activity program covers two intense days of activity cultural, musical and leisure aimed at the more than 300 participating tunos and the general public. The presence of a Female Tuna, the Tuniña de Eindhoven, among others.

The Friday, November 5 The activities will begin at noon with the concentration of the Tunos participating in the “fan-zone” located in the Plaza Costa del Sol. At 17:00 it will begin with the parade which will run through the center to Calvary to end in front of the main balcony of the Town Hall where the Round Contest as the tunas arrive.
After the serenades of the rounds, the tunos will cross the street to perform in the Plaza Federico García Lorca where will there be a stage enabled so that all the residents of Torremolinos get to know the participating tunas for free.
Friday night will end with a welcome party open to the public in the Auditorium Municipal Príncipe de Asturias where it will be ensured that all applicable security measures and capacity restrictions are respected, as in all organized events.

At 9:00 p.m. the Closing Solidarity Gala Dinner where the prizes will be given to the best tunas of the Contest to be held in the Hotel Cervantes from Torremolinos. This charity dinner will offer a luxury menu, tickets already available. The cover cost € 40.60 and includes a donation to the Red Cross of € 10.
