Munich beats the champions after 0: 1 with 4: 1 / sold out house at fan party in the capital
Munich wins when the fans return: In the first PENNY DEL game with spectators in 18 months, the Red Bulls beat defending champions Eisbären Berlin 4-1. Before that, the hosts took the lead in the Mercedes-Benz Arena, which was sold out with 6,450 fans.
The PENNY DEL continues with six games on Friday evening at 7:30 p.m. Among other things, the newcomer Bietigheim Steelers celebrates its premiere against the ERC Ingolstadt in front of a home crowd in the upper house. The spectators in Berlin had to wait for the first goal in a brisk game for over 20 minutes, but then Zach Boychuk (21st) gave the hosts the lead. Munich’s answer was not long in coming. Zach Redmond (25th) quickly equalized and Yasin Ehliz (37th) put the guests in the front. In the final section, Bayern gained an overweight and used this to make the sack with goals from Yannic Seidenberg (45th) and ex-polar bear Austin Ortega (48th). Unmoved by the defeat, the Berlin fans demanded their team back on the ice and celebrated their return to the arena together with the team.
