Red Bull’s Rivals Under Pressure to Improve F1 Cars for 2024

Red Bull’s rivals are under pressure to produce better F1 cars for 2024. That’s because those cars will be used as the basis for the team’s next car in 2025.

Auto Motor und Sport reports that there is a move to ban design and development preparations for the new 2026 rules until January 1, 2025.

This increases the responsibility for Red Bull’s struggling rivals to get the car concept right for the final two seasons, when the current “ground effects” regulations apply.

“The 2025 model probably won’t be a completely new design as we have a limited budget and want to ensure we have the firepower we need for development in 2026,” Mercedes technical director James Allison admitted. .

“Many parts will have to be carried over from 2024, so the next two cars are likely to be closely related. So to be fully prepared for the next two seasons, The development work we are doing now becomes doubly important.”

Aston Martin team boss Mike Clack agrees with this approach.

“We’re going to be as flexible as possible when building the chassis. We’re definitely planning for 2024 with 2025 in mind,” Clack said.

Alisson went on to explain that the F1 grid will be “completely shuffled” from 2025 onwards, when the current regulation cycle ends.

“Everything that has happened up until now will no longer count. “Who will start from a blank slate?”
