Sebastian Vettel is still in good spirits that he made the right decision by switching from Ferrari to Aston Martin. But after three days of testing in Bahrain, after a series of technical problems, he is one of the losers in the preparations for the Formula 1 season in 2021.
This is one of the central topics of the analysis on the third and final day of the winter tests in Bahrain. Formula 1 expert Marc Surer warns in the 25-minute video (now on the Formula1.de YouTube channel available) but before copying Vettel.
“Once Sebastian has set the car correctly, he will surpass himself again – just as we know him from before,” says the former Formula 1 driver.
Surer explains in a discussion with editor-in-chief Christian Nimmervoll Facebook: “Formula 1 inside with Christian Nimmervoll” and presenter Kevin Scheuren Formel-1-Podcast “Starting Grid” also the technical background behind the thesis, why the rule change in the area of the underbody could hit Mercedes (“low rake”) harder than Red Bull (“high rake”).
And he talks about his assessment of the current balance of power in Formula 1 – with what he thinks is an exciting duel at the top and McLaren as a “big” surprise.
The Swiss is also happy about the positive trend among his compatriots in Hinwil: “At the moment it looks like Alfa Romeo has taken the bigger step than Ferrari. They are right behind Ferrari!”
