Red Bull Salzburg postpones the Bundesliga home game against Hartberg.

Due to Red Bull Salzburg’s success in qualifying for the Champions League, Salzburg’s Bundesliga match against TSV Hartberg (4th round) on August 24th has been postponed. The runner-up has applied for the match to be postponed in order to have additional regeneration time between the play-off matches. The replacement date will be set after the European Cup qualification.

Vice-champion Red Bull Salzburg were actually supposed to play Hartberg in the Bundesliga on August 24th. However, due to their promotion to the Champions League playoffs, this duel has now been postponed. Pep Lijnders and his team will find out who they will face in the playoffs this evening.

Red Bull Salzburg makes use of postponement right

Since 2021, clubs have had the option of requesting a postponement of the Bundesliga match that takes place between the two European Cup play-off games. Salzburg has made use of this right. If they make it into the premier class, three percent of the entry fee (558,600 euros) will go into a solidarity fund from which all league competitors who are not playing in the group phase of an international competition will benefit.
