Red Bull Salzburg is happy and is preparing for the first test match in front of spectators! – Hockey-News.info

With a test match on August 7th in the Salzburg ice arena against Madeta Motor České Budějovice (7.15 p.m.), the EC Red Bull Salzburg starts the pre-season 2021/22. For the first time since October last year, spectators are again admitted. Tickets for the game will be available from July 21st; the 3G rule applies to admission.

Fans and players alike have longed for this moment. On Saturday, August 7th, the Czech premier league club Motor České Budějovice will make a guest appearance in the Salzburg Ice Arena, opening Salzburg’s game program for the new season. For the first time in more than nine months, viewers are again admitted; the last game in front of their own fans was for the Red Bulls on October 23, 2020 against Linz (2: 3 OT).

Defender Alexander Pallestrang is happy to “finally play ice hockey again, it’s been a long summer until now. The biggest thing, of course, is that we can play in front of our fans again. It will certainly be a bit strange and we will have to talk louder again on the ice to communicate. But finally the audience is back, we are really looking forward to it. ”

Motor České Budějovice is a traditional Czech club, which after relegation from the Czech top division Extraliga to the 1st division (second highest division) in 2013 returned to the Extraliga after seven years in the last season. In the first year after the resurgence, the Czechoslovak champions from 1951 missed the playoffs and had to put up with the last place in the regular season.

The Red Bulls have already dueled the Czechs four times between 2009 and 2012, including three times in the then European Trophy. The Czechs won three times and the Red Bulls won once.
