Red Bull Salzburg’s top talents also play in the Champions League. Rene Aufhauser will look after the team in the Youth League and is facing a great challenge.
For the third time, soccer champion Red Bull Salzburg is taking part in the Champions League. This also means that the Bulls’ under-19 team is represented in the Youth League.
In the Champions League for junior teams, Salzburg’s top talents, such as the Bundesliga group, meet Lille, Wolfsburg and Sevilla FC. Salzburg will start in round one on September 14th in Seville. The youngsters are looked after by René Aufhauser, who has also successfully coached FC Liefering in the second division so far. The Youth League team is made up of players from FC Liefering and the Bullen U18 academy team.
In 2017, Salzburg won the prestigious competition under coach Marco Rose by beating Benfica Lisbon in the final. Patson Daka, Hannes Wolf, Xaver Schlager and Amadou Haidara stood out. Most recently, the Youngsters 2020 failed in the semifinals with a lot of bad luck at Real Madrid. Under coach Matthias Jaissle, Luka Sučić and Karim Adeyemi were particularly convincing.
