The Red Bull Racing team has one of the best drivers of the moment under contract with Max Verstappen. The three-time world champion shines and gives many people goosebumps. Helmut Marko does not think he can ever find a new Verstappen.
One year before his debut in Formula 1, the very young Verstappen was picked up by the Red Bull training team. He was intensively coached and he grew into a superstar. Verstappen is the great example for the members of the Red Bull Junior Team. He is certainly not the only driver who has taken the step to Formula 1 via the Red Bull Junior Team, Carlos Sainz and Pierre Gasly also come from the talent stable.
Goethe
Red Bull recently added the young Oliver Goethe to the training team and team advisor Helmut Marko expects a lot from him. The Austrian advisor is talking positively to his compatriots from OE24: “He is certainly a good boy, he is a German who lives in London and Monte Carlo. He was fast during the test days and next year he will have to prove himself in Formula 3.”
New Verstappen
In any case, Marko does not see Goethe as the new Max Verstappen. The Austrian is very honest about this and he even states that it can only be disappointing in the future: “Maybe Oliver has a bit of the same brutality as Max, but I have already given up the search for a new Verstappen. Because he simply exists. No, I will be happy if we can find a future race winner.”
