The silly season is currently in full swing in Formula 1. Many drivers have an expiring contract and the teams are looking to the future. This is also the case with the Red Bull Racing team, Alexander Albon’s name is now again associated with the racing team.
Albon has been driving for the Williams team since 2022. He makes a big impression on the British racing team and that has shaken up the top teams. Albon already drove for Red Bull in 2019 and 2020, but that was not a great success. He now shines in the colors of Williams and they don’t want to let him go. Williams team boss James Vowles revealed earlier this week that Albon has a contract until 2025 and that they have no intention of selling him.
According to Motorsport.com, Red Bull is now interested in Albon’s services again. However, it would be a striking construction. There would be an option for 2026 where Red Bull could sign him for three seasons. This is only an option that Albon can consider. If the Thai Brit likes it, Red Bull can decide at a later time whether they want to use his services. This keeps all options open and makes it more difficult for Albon to switch to another team.
