Red Bull F1 Adviser Delivers Disheartening News to Alex Wurz’s Son’s F1 Dreams

Red Bull F1 motorsport adviser Helmut Marko has broken the bad news to former F1 driver Alex Wurz’s son Charlie. In January, it was reported that young Charlie Wurz, 17, is on track to win the Formula Regional Oceania championship in early 2023 and is on track for F1.

Despite not having much success after stepping up to top team ART’s Formula Regional Europe, Wurz is clearly the rising star of Austria’s young talent. But Helmut Marko, Red Bull’s young driver mastermind at the Austrian Grand Prix, told ORF: “I don’t see any Austrians making it in F1 in the near future.” Alex Wurz said he believes Charlie has what it takes to be a professional racing driver. Former McLaren and Williams drivers hang in there. However, Marko countered that “currently the results he is getting do not indicate the direction of Formula 1”. Wurz replied, “If the Doctor so wishes, it is always his business.”
