Red Bull car Verstappen was completely incorrectly adjusted during the Turkish GP

After a dramatic start, Max Verstappen had a reasonable initial phase of the race. After falling a long way from a spin, he had to re-start the way up again, but his intermediate tires were not working properly. In fact, his green-lined tires wore out above average. Afterwards it turned out that a wrongly adjusted car played tricks on him.

In conversation with The Telegraph Verstappen tells about his disappointing race. “Let me start by saying that this was not my best race,” he emphasizes, before explaining what was wrong with his car. “Everything went wrong. My front wing turned out to be completely wrong. On one side I had seven degrees too little!”

“That’s really a lot,” he continues. “Normally you only adjust one degree, or something like that. What do you want then, as a driver? Almost nothing works then,” said the Dutchman, whose car consumed his tires as it were due to the wrong adjustment.

The fast corners in combination with the wrong adjustment demanded a lot from his front tires. As a result, Verstappen was also unable to make a fist against his competition in the last part of the race. The incorrect adjustment is said to have been caused by an error in Red Bull software.

In the end, Verstappen, who finished sixth, performed three pit stops. Winner Lewis Hamilton only needed fresh rubber once.
