During his visit last December, Christine Gavini-Chevet, Rector of the Normandy academy, had established through several meetings an observation on the issues and needs raised locally. Both by school directors and teachers, but also through exchanges with students. A digital mission was sent a few weeks later as planned to complete a sort of educational audit.
In a video press conference from the Normandy Academy on October 5, the rector presented her 5 main priority areas for the current school year:
- improving mobility and orientation,
- the development of digital tools,
- mastery of fundamental knowledge,
- increasing the offer of professional and technical training
- and psychological support, mental health at school…
The academy is also in negotiations with numerous professionals from Normandy and the archipelago in order to expand its training offering, particularly in the field of catering and early childhood, a complementary objective set by the rector during this briefing.
And among the new features, the possibility for students from the archipelago:
- to go and discover the university campus of Caen (Normandy) after the All Saints’ Day holidays,
- to be followed and sponsored by students as part of the “Rope of success” in order to best prepare for higher education.
