After 13 years of activity, the company IT support (which integrates and adapts the Odoo business management software) to Alencon (Orne) continues to develop and recruit employees. “Our development went through an increasing phase three years ago”, explains Sébastien Lange, director.
“We are now 30 employees but we are having difficulty recruiting. I was looking for an average of one to two people per year and I went to one to two people per month. “
The boss needs additional employees but is struggling to fill his workforce. And wonders … Should he review his recruitment methods? Is Alençon a brake? He opens an office in Le Mans, thinking of attracting more candidates. But wasted effort. “I turned to Pôle emploi and I came to present my company to job seekers. We also created a training course, with the help of the Normandy Region. “
Quickly, five people were recruited. The business manager recognizes this:
“We worked more on interpersonal skills than on know-how, with less interest in diplomas. “
A method that works and Sébastien Lange sees this waitress, whom he has just recruited, as proof of it, “she had resumed computer lessons in the evening and was very motivated”.
Recruitment during the health crisis
Virginie Bisson, director of the Pôle emploi agency in Alençon, confirms: “We started with appetites, individual skills and not just diplomas. “ The health crisis did not slow down the work of the public agency, “there were hires, even on permanent contracts. »Meetings with companies were maintained.
She insists on developing skills for requests, “we have all the tools and many government measures to offer training. “
Recruitment at Subteno IT continues, “Three people are expected in the coming weeks. “ He evokes, and Virginie Bisson agrees, these people who have taken advantage of successive confinements to change their professional career. “Pôle emploi advisers are also there to support these transitions”.

Recruitment for these two companies has mainly been local. This is what Sébastien Lange and Anthony Dubois are happy about. As well as Virginie Bisson who indicates that in March 2020, the Alençon agency had 3,100 job seekers in category A (unemployed). And 4,990 all categories combined. For 380 offers. Unsurprisingly, the sectors that are recruiting are health, construction and hospitality. “But we also have offers in a wide variety of sectors and, above all, companies today are less interested in diplomas than in skills and motivation. “Installation projects are underway in the territory” which will involve future recruitments.

A great need for personnel at Fnac
Opened in 2017 in the Carrefour shopping mall, Fnac has undoubtedly had to deal with these career changes. As well as mutations. Result: a big need in a short time. “We turned to Pôle emploi because we had to recruit at least eight people”, summarizes Anthony Dubois, director of Fnac since January.
“We refined the profiles we were looking for and I liked the collective presentation. I explained what I was looking for. I focus above all on interpersonal skills ”.
The manager is still recruiting between four, maybe six sales advisers.

Fnac d’Alençon closed its doors during this third confinement. What surprised more than one, some even fearing a definitive closure. This is not the case and the director Anthony Dubois explains: “we are franchisees and our manager has taken the decision to close all of its Fnac stores because at the start of this confinement, there was total vagueness concerning the authorizations to open the stores. supermarkets and their shopping malls. “On Wednesday, May 19, the store challenged with computer and cultural products has therefore reopened its doors.
