GORIZIA. Tidy and full of expectations. They are the participants in the first Recruiting day, the recruitment of personnel which began on Thursday 18 February and ended on Friday 19 February, organized at the Lenassi Center by the Municipality and by the Adecco agency to bring job seekers closer to the opportunities offered by 8 companies in the area . In the end, compared to the initial adhesions, a little more than a hundred people will participate in all.
The wide selection of 396 members is due to various reasons, as confirmed by Emilio Nuvola, director of the Adecco branch in Gorizia. From his words we understand how the world of work, even at a local level, has now taken on more and more specific features that lead to various forms of self-selection by those called even before coming into contact with companies.
«The Isontino in large part proposes positions in the field of production, much less in the administrative field. In particular, line workers with automation skills are sought. Many today realize that they do not have the required training or experience or that they want to use other channels. We advise candidates to prepare for the real needs of the area, not so much to arrive with their own luggage hoping to find a job that suits their needs ».
We are, in essence, increasingly into the era of technological and digital specialization. And we must keep up with the times and with the changes in the market. Here then is that of the candidates: 40 come from outside the region, 50 were not interested in the recruiting formula (a form of presenting themselves to companies, with the accompaniment of a tutor), 42 are already hired by other companies, 30 are not they made an appointment after a first membership. There are also “10 people who in the meantime have found work, 4-5 absent for health reasons while 131 have found – says Nuvola – that their curriculum was not in line with the positions proposed”. Still 84 people preferred an individual couching with Adecco.
In the end we arrive at 96 candidates interested in the production sector and 10 addressed to the white-collar sector: 28 women and 78 men, of which 63 from Gorizia, 34 under 30 and 33 over 50. Within the numbers, the stories of those who presented themselves at the young point. For them five minutes of interview each, which could be followed by another more in-depth one in one of the eight companies involved: Bo. Ma, Coveme, Ilcam, La Giulia, Metalpack, Miko, Nmg Europe and Tecnocoop.
Realities looking for line workers on shifts, maintenance workers, packing / packing / end-of-line workers, forklift drivers, new graduates with technical, mechanical and electrical addresses, commercial back offices (all ads also valid for women). Angelo Liviano would like to be a warehouse worker: «I’m 24 years old and I had this experience in Fincantieri after graduating. I would like to work at Nmg Europe and in Gorizia, where there are more possibilities than in Trieste ». Luca Pirrò is also targeting the same company. “I responded to the announcement for a position as a forklift driver, I have some experience with the forklift even if up to now I have been a worker”, he says calmly.
The atmosphere around the candidates, in general, is quite calm. On the other hand, Covid allows a staggering of three people at a time, even if the times for the talks are rather limited. Carlo Sabatini comes from Gradisca and has set up two meetings with two different companies. It looks a bit tried: «I honestly don’t see any improvements for the foreseeable future. I have worked for years for periods of 15-20 days at a time, there is a lot of precariousness ». For Daniele Collenzini, alongside Sabatini outside the youth point, similarly what counts is «above all to work, no matter what position. I was a factory worker, I’m young and I want to do something different ».
Then there is the particular case of those who have done something different all their life or almost. “For health reasons I had to give up a permanent job in the public sector. Since 2006 I have worked as a guardian, customer assistant, secretary, warehouse worker, shelf clerk », says Alessandro Corrado. He comes from Taranto and yesterday he met the managers of three companies. “What matters – he underlines – is to continue to think positively”. And this applies to everyone, especially in this period. –
