We have prepared the recruiting trends in the marketing industry for 2022 for you. Including the most sought-after jobs and insights from HR professionals.
Marketing, content and SEO are your topic? Then find out here what the job market will look like in these areas in 2022. CRM (Customer Relationship Management) marketing company HubSpot found the following in its annual Marketing Industry Trends Report:
That’s what marketing professionals expect
2022 is the year of the content professionals. Almost 50 percent of all marketers want to increase their budget for content marketing this year. With this increase, content marketing managers (25 percent), content creators (22 percent) and content strategists (20 percent) are to be acquired. People with specialist knowledge of SEO and social media are also urgently needed. For the first, i.e. search engine optimization, 75 percent of the HR managers surveyed are looking for specialists. In addition, 60 percent ask for SEO marketing managers, and 43 percent of those surveyed want to hire SEO strategists. For the second, i.e. as far as social media is concerned, 73 percent of the most relevant searches include social media strategists and social media coordinators (58 percent).
The biggest challenges in recruiting
More than 40 percent of those surveyed stated that the greatest challenge was to find candidates with the right skills (multiple selection possible). The two challenges of ensuring a good application experience and acquiring various candidates were chosen at roughly the same level.
Recruiting becomes more difficult every year
Around a third of the marketing experts surveyed state that they consider recruiting to be more difficult in 2022 than in the previous year. The reason for this is mostly “friction in the team of colleagues”, which is why more than a quarter of those surveyed in the industry attest a high to very high fluctuation rate. Nevertheless, the spirit is positive: 23 percent expect a decrease in fluctuation. In order to further weaken this tendency, it makes sense for HR managers, for example, to invest in the further training of recruits and thus develop them as digital talents and bind them to the company.
To the survey
As part of the “Marketing Industry Trends Report 2022” of HubSpot Blogs experts from the marketing industry were consulted again this year. In total, there were 1,067 marketing managers this year between 11.09. and September 28, 2021. People from the USA, Australia, Canada, the UK, France, Japan and Germany were interviewed from B2B and B2C companies of all sizes. There were 151 marketing managers in Germany, 114 of whom also hire staff. All of the above numbers and proportions relate exclusively to the numbers that resulted from the survey of Germans.
