NEW YORK (Dpa-AFX) – US stocks (ETR:) recovered from recent losses on Thursday. Similarly to Europe, fears of a renewed global spread of the corona virus appear to be limited for the time being in light of the rapid increase in the number of infections in China. There was also no price damaging news from the US labor market: the increase in weekly initial jobless claims was as expected.

The leading industrial index gained 0.79% to 33,134.47 points in the first quarter of an hour after the start. The broad market was up 1.20% to 3828.70 points. Heavy Technology. For all three indices, however, the stock market year 2022 was very negative, especially the interest-sensitive technology stocks were hit hard.

On the penultimate trading day of the year, trading is expected to continue with no major drivers. Many investors are on vacation, the books are mostly closed. In the case of rather low trading volumes, however, irregular price movements may occur.
