In a new tweet from the official “Dune” account, Warner Bros. confirms that the recording of “Dune: Part 2” has begun.
Variety reports that the sequel to “Dune” has started recording with Denis Villeneuve back on the register. The film is expected to be released in theaters in November 2023 and Timothée Chalamet returns in the lead role.-
Filming has begun and in addition to the director and main character from the previous film, the star ensemble Zendaya, the Swedes Rebecca Ferguson and Stellan Skarsgård, Javier Bardem, Josh Brolin, and Dave Bautista will also return for the sequel.
In connection with the tweet, Warner Bros. has also released a synopsis of the film.
“This sequel will explore Paul Atreide’s mythical journey as he reunites with Chani and Fremen while on the warpath against the conspirators who destroyed his family. When faced with a choice between the love of his life and the fate of the universe, he tries to prevent a terrible future that only he can foresee. “

New actors joining the new “Dune” include Austin Butler (most recently as the title role in “Elvis”) and veteran Christopher Walken in the role of “The Emperor”.
In an interview with Empire tells director Villeneuve about his work ahead of the upcoming film.-
– When you adapt books, you have to make brave choices for things to come to life. In the sequel, I want more flexibility, and it will be possible to go a little deeper into some of these details.
It will be exciting to see what Denis Villeneuve will achieve with the sequel to “Dune”. The previous film received the highest rating from MovieZine and in the review we wrote that “the result is a film that not only captures its grandeur, but also convinces in the details”.
The sequel to “Dune” premieres in the US on November 17 next year.
