Record: sweating in Canada at 47.9 degrees


The risk of forest fires is increasing rapidly

In numerous other places in North America, including the state of Oregon in the western United States, record local temperatures of well over 40 degrees were measured. For the coming days, heat and persistent drought are predicted in large parts of the country, and the risk of forest fires is increasing in many places.

The temperatures currently registered in western Canada sometimes even exceeded those of places significantly further south, such as the US desert city of Las Vegas.
