“Record Store Day Draws Crowds Across Germany, Austria, and Switzerland with Limited Vinyl Releases”

Around 240 record stores are taking part in the international Record Store Day in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. The organizers said they were hoping for up to 120,000 visitors. Traditionally, limited vinyl editions by various artists have been released since 2011 on the occasion of Record Store Day. The limited records then include, for example, unreleased songs, bonus tracks or live recordings. According to the Federal Association of the Music Industry, record sales in 2022 increased by 5.1 percent compared to the previous year to 4.3 million copies sold. Vinyl remains in third place after streaming and CDs with industry sales of 6 percent.
