Record Numbers: 5,112 Migrants Arrive in Lampedusa

(ANSA) – LAMPEDUSA, SEPTEMBER 13 – Rescues and autonomous disembarkations of migrants continue unabated in Lampedusa after yesterday’s record numbers. In fact, during the day there were 110 landings for a total of 5,112 people. Since midnight, another 23 arrivals with almost a thousand people have been registered so far.

At the moment, at the commercial pier, there are dozens and dozens of migrants, who arrived on different boats, all crowded together: it will be impossible to establish which boat they arrived on the island with. Rescuers and law enforcement are exhausted: other small boats have been reported traveling, but also migrants who have already landed on the mainland. (HANDLE).
