Record number of visitors at this year’s Auto Zurich

Auto Zurich swims against the current. While other trade fairs have to complain about dwindling numbers of exhibitors and visitors, Switzerland’s largest car trade fair can report several records for this year.

64,619 tickets sold mark the biggest rush for Auto Zurich in the 38-year history of the trade fair. The automobile exhibition at the Zurich Trade Fair thus contradicts the avoidable trend that car shows are no longer in demand; as the recent end of the Geneva Motor Show suggested. Auto Zurich was also able to report two new records on the exhibitor side with 70 brand appearances and over 80 new products.

The so-called “EV Experience” was very popular. The organizer reports that around 1,650 test drives with 31 different electric vehicles were carried out. This corresponds to an increase of 30 percent compared to 2023. 24 product premieres were also presented on the media day.

Strong signal for the automotive industry

The visitors were enthusiastic, said Karl Bieri, President of Auto Zurich in the official statement. This demonstrates people’s great interest in the mobility of the future and reflects the conviction “that the sustainable and digital car will play a central role in this.” Trade fair managing director Ines Nägeli interpreted the many product premieres as a strong signal of change and as a sign of the innovative strength of the automotive industry.
