The number of new covid-19 cases reached record numbers on Saturday in the Olympic city of Tokyo, with more than 4,000 new infected.
Across the country, more than 12,000 new cases were registered, according to the public service channel NHK. This is the highest figure for Japan and an increase of 15 percent compared to Friday.
