Record Investments and Connectivity: Europe Adds 4.2 Gigawatts of Offshore Wind Turbines in One Year

In Europe, 4.2 gigawatts of offshore wind turbines were connected last year. Never before have so many offshore wind turbines been added in one year. This is reported by the trade association WindEurope.

Many windmills are connected, especially in Dutch, French and British waters. For example, the Hollandse Kust Zuid wind farm was put into operation last year. It is located between 18 and 36 kilometers offshore and is currently the largest operating park in the world.

The number of investments in new offshore wind turbines also increased considerably last year. In Europe, a total of 30 billion euros has been invested in eight new parks. Once these projects are completed, they will be able to generate 9 gigawatts of electricity. That is also a record.
