The first generation female soldiers from the Cadre Training Center in the Women’s Armed Forces Saudi Arabia declared graduated after carrying out the graduation procession last Wednesday (1/9). The graduation was noted to be part of a historic moment in reforms and initiatives to empower women in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
The graduation procession was also attended by the Chief of General Staff General Fayyad Al-Ruwaili to the Head of the Armed Forces Education and Training Agency Major General Adel Al-Balawi.
In his remarks, Adel said that the training center aims to provide professional training services for female staff in the vocational field of the Saudi Ministry of Defense.
“It has an important mission, which is to provide a leading training program and curriculum and an ideal educational environment in accordance with international quality standards that meet the needs of female armed forces cadres,” Adel said. Saudi Gazette, Sunday (5/9).
Adel added that the training center also aims to achieve performance that is expected to help realize the goals of the Saudi Arabian Ministry of Defense in the future.
In the process, the Assistant Commander of the Center Sergeant Chief Hadi Al-Anezi also gave the oath to the graduates. Followed by the announcement of the results and the names of graduates who excel and win special prizes.
At the end of the ceremony, General Al-Ruwaili also expressed his gratitude for the excellent work of the male and female staff of the center in accomplishing the institution’s great mission.
Saudi Arabia is known to open up the Armed Forces sector to women by allowing both women and men to apply through the launch of a unified admissions portal in February. Saudi women aged 21 to 40 are allowed to apply for the program.
Military ranks from soldier to sergeant are available to women in the Saudi Arabian Army, Royal Saudi Air Defense, Royal Saudi Navy, Royal Saudi Strategic Missile Forces, and Armed Forces Medical Services.
