Record high average electricity exchange price expected on Monday / Article

It is forecasted that the price of electricity will rise to 626.06 euros per MWh between Monday at 16 and 17. The lowest price is expected tomorrow from 2 am-3pm, when the price of electricity will be 125.92 euros per MWh.

The previous electricity exchange price records were reached on the previous Monday, November 29, when the daily average price was 263.96 euros per MWh, but in the afternoon the electricity price rose to 421.87 euros per MWh.

In the following week, the average daily price of electricity did not exceed 200 euros per MWh, reaching the lowest average daily price on Sunday, December 5 – 148.28 euros per MWh.

On Sunday, the high price of electricity will be from 5 pm to 6 pm – 256.91 euros per MWh.

As Latvenergo AS explained a week ago, assessing the rise in prices on the Nord Pool exchange, the main reason is still the weather – colder weather and reduced wind energy production, as well as additional carbon dioxide (CO2) quota prices have risen.
