Several heat records have been registered for January in Eastern Norway on Thursday and Friday.

– Records have been set, yes, says on-duty editorial meteorologist Unni Nilssen at the Meteorological Institute to VG.
In Oslo, 12.1 degrees was registered at the weather station at Hovin at 10 pm on Thursday. At Gulsvik in Flå municipality in Viken, 13.2 was registered at 04 on Friday. According to Nilssen, it may also have been even warmer in some places, but they are still working to verify this. It may have been up to 14 degrees.
– The heat came late in the evening and at night as well, and it is not so common. This is due to a strong north-westerly wind which thus becomes a dry wind, says Nilssen.
The heat record stands in contrast to the heavy rainfall and wind that has hit the west and north in recent days. In Modalen washed a rock slide live four boathouses, and in Nordland, almost all scheduled traffic was canceled as a result of the extreme weather Gyda.
Thursday night, the Meteorological Institute announced that the extreme weather was over.
