For those who wanted the return of hot days there is good news.
New York area residents will enjoy record-breaking warm temperatures on Thursday, especially in the Garden State, where many cities could reach and surpass the 80-degree mark.
Sunny skies will also prevail keeping rain out to the north, not only on Thursday but also on Friday and Saturday. In fact, Saturday could be the best day ever, with temperatures possible in the 80s, even in some metropolitan areas.
When do warm temperatures end?
The weather pattern will change on Sunday with the return of cloudiness, the possibility of some scattered showers throughout the day that will persist into Monday, and a significant drop in temperatures. For Halloween, cold weather and winds are expected with the wind chill dropping to 40 and 30 degrees.
