Dalapati Vijay’s Leo’s collection records started from Kerala. Apart from Vijay’s many fans, the acceptance of director Lokesh Kanakaraj also gave Leo a huge hype in Kerala. Dalapathy Vijay’s Leo started off with a record release collection at the Kerala box office. Box office reports that Leo has now achieved another huge Kerala collection record.
Even before its release, fans had predicted that Leo would break many collection records. Some countered that Leo would not be able to break the collection record of the Rajinikanth-starrer Jailer. But the result was exactly what Vijay’s fans expected. Rajinikanth’s Leo has overtaken Jailer to become the number one Tamil film at the Kerala box office in terms of collections.
Rajinikanth’s Jailer grossed Rs 57.70 crore in Kerala. But as of today, Leo has earned around Rs 58 crore and has reached the number one position in the total gross at the Kerala box office. Leo has already made a record of earning 50 crores from Kerala in his own name. Dalapathy Vijay’s Leoya collection has broken records in the Gulf as well.
Not only in Kerala but also in Karnataka, Leo had made huge gains in the collection. Lokesh Kanakaraj and Vijay’s film Leo had broken release collection records in Karnataka as well as that of Jailer. Box office reports say that although it was released along with Nandamuri Balakrishna’s Bhagwant Kesari, Vijay’s Leo was also able to make huge inroads. Arjun, Priya Anand, Sandy Master, Manobala, Mathew, Mansoor Ali Khan, Babu Antony, Abhirami Venkatachalam, Iya, Vasanthi, Maya Esa Krishnan, Shanti Mayadavei, Madonna Sebastian, Anurag Kashyap and Sachin Mani also star in Leo after 14 years as Vijay’s heroine Trisha. He was in other important roles.
