The National Meteorological Center revealed that the amounts of rain that fell on parts of the country during the recent weather were very special and unique, as the amounts of rain reached 6.04 billion cubic meters at a level of 99.6 mm in the period from 14 to 14. 17 April.

The center pointed out that the top of the cumulus clouds in the upper atmosphere reached about 18 kilometers in the last wave last Tuesday, which is called a supercell, meaning when thunder clouds produce a cell of superclouds.

The center pointed out that, according to recorded statistics and compared to the weather over the past years, not so heavy rain fell over large areas in a short period of time in the form of three consecutive waves that started since last Sunday morning.

He explained that this exceptional weather, accompanied by a lot of rain, including large areas across the country from Abu Dhabi to Dubai and Al Ain, through Ras Al Khaimah and Sharjah more than 100 mm was recorded on Sunday , and then the amounts of the rain doubled within 24 hours, reaching the highest level in the city of Al Ain at 259 mm. the recent weather that covered the whole country.

According to the National Meteorology Center, the region and the country were exposed to unstable weather represented by the presence of an air depression extending from the southwest to the country, which worked to bring a mass of moist and warm air in at the same time. coming from the Arabian Sea, with an extension of the upper air depression coming from the northwest.

The National Center said that the cumulonimbus clouds came in the form of continuous strong waves at times that started on Sunday morning and returned again on Monday afternoon heavy rain accompanied by strong winds reaching speeds of 100 km/h in some of areas.
