Record-Breaking Number of Ballerinas Make History in Tutus at Plaza Hotel

The record was broken in the grand and elegant lobby of the Plaza Hotel, New York (UNITED STATES). In addition to the organizers and members of the The Guinness Book who came to confirm the record, no less than 353 classical dancers from around the world were present for the event.

“So proud of all of us”

All dressed in traditional ballerina attire, the young girls put on their slippers, warm up and jump on pointe for a minute. The schedule requires each dancer to stay on tiptoe for sixty seconds, without climbing and while maintaining their balance on their own.

The bet was won for the teenagers: their record was quickly confirmed and announced. There was then an explosion of joy in the hall, reporting that the New York Post which was on the site. “I was in shock,” one of the ballerinas told local media. “I’m so proud of all of us,” said another.

The ballerinas came from all over the United States but also from China, Brazil, Japan and various European countries for the event. Together, they beat the previous record, which was also set in New York in September 2019 with 306 dancers together.
