International news 17:05 2023-11-05

Xinhua news agency reported that On Saturday (4 Nov.), Japan’s capital Tokyo entered its 141st day of this year with temperatures reaching 25 degrees Celsius or higher. This is an all time high statistic.

The report states that at 12.50 local time. The temperature in Tokyo hit 26.3 degrees Celsius, out of sync with the season. The high pressure system caused temperatures to soar from the eastern to western areas of the country.

It was the first time since 2009 that temperatures in central Tokyo hit 25 degrees Celsius in November. This number falls within the temperature limits set for a day during summer in Japan.

Incidentally, the 2022 report stated that the previous record for the number of summer days in Tokyo’s history was 140 days.
