Lines for popcorn, crowds at the entrance to the hall, the occasional confusion when someone wants to sit in their seat, and it is already taken. “If it were worst, we still have benches made of anti-nuclear shelter, or people can sit on the stairs, for example,” laughs Tereza Jankujová, who checks tickets at the entrance to the Hvězda cinema in Přerov on Thursday evening.

Because of the long-awaited picture Onemanshow: The Movie Kamila Bartošek, aka Kazmy, had the audience bursting at the seams. Three hundred people showed up for the midnight showing, the Thursday night screening was hopelessly sold out.
“I don’t remember such an audience for any film. The midnight show was packed already, but at least people came gradually, so it was manageable. But this evening is breaking records. The confusion is a bit bigger because some come at the last minute, look for their rows and sometimes someone misreads the seat number. The initial onslaught was harsh,” he recounts.

Older visitors made no secret of the fact that they had not seen a movie theater so full since their school days. “The last time it was packed like this was maybe under the communists. “Maybe the Titanic was just as popular,” recalls the older man. “I experienced something like this only once, when I was on the film A Star Is Born,” a middle-aged woman recalled.
Most people made no secret of the fact that they were attracted by a great promo. “For me, it’s mainly curiosity, why I’m here. But I don’t believe that we will be disappointed after seeing what Kazma is filming. I liked how he set the TV on fire, so I believe that we will have a good time,” hopes Petr from Přerov.
“I was lured by the campaign because the film had an excellent promo. Today, I probably don’t expect anything groundbreaking, because we know quite a lot about the film. We reserved the tickets about a month in advance and we went here mainly because there will be a lot of talk about the film and we want to know what it is about,” confided Roman Sedlář, who came to see Kazm’s film with his wife. “I’m not a fan of Kazma, so I’m just going as an escort. We have allowed ourselves to be drawn into it, but we will certainly not be looking for buried treasure, we will not get involved in it,” laughs Šárka Sedlářová.

“We are mainly going to enjoy it and we are also prepared for the possibility that the money was not invested in the right direction. I went with that from the very beginning. Last week I was at Rambo and there were twenty people in the hall,” describes one of the visitors, Lukáš Drábek. But most people agreed that, if nothing else, they will remember the completely filled hall of the Přerov cinema for a long time.
According to cinema manager Svatava Mérková, Kazm’s film Onemanshow: The Movie is a film that is hopelessly sold out after a long time. He says he certainly cannot complain about the summer visitor season at the cinema, which is one of the best in recent years.

“There is also a huge interest in films Barbie a Oppenheimer. Barbie has been seen by two thousand people since its premiere, and Oppenheimer by one thousand. More than a hundred people came every time even to the screenings that we added,” concludes Mérková.
