Marco’s children Luca, Senna and Jada, who have never let their father down, visit him a lot in Alkmaar. Because Marco and Leontine hadn’t been seen together in recent months, many assumed they had ended their relationship. “In itself that is currently also true,” an insider confides to Story. ‘But not for the reason that many people think. This time it was Marco who let Leontine know that it is better not to have a relationship for a while. He wanted her to be able to live her own life without being confronted everywhere and at all times with the accusation leveled against him. It is actually the ultimate form of love. He lets her go so she can move on with her life and he can prepare for the trial in peace.’

Meanwhile, Marco is happy that Leontine has picked up her life in this way. That’s what he had in mind last year when he ‘let her go’. Marco still loves her very much. Leontine remains for him the woman of his dreams. He gives her space now, but hopes that one day they can be together again. In doing so, he runs the risk that Leontine will meet someone else, although her friends do not expect such a thing to happen anytime soon. ‘Just as she is Marco’s dream woman, Leontine still loves Marco very much. Everyone hopes they will get back together someday.”
