The Rio Negro police highlighted a series of recommendations for those who, due to the end of the year festivities or to enjoy the holidays, decide to travel in private vehicles.

The head of the Traffic Department, Commissioner Marcos Napoleón Peralta, specified some advice for drivers to reach the desired destination safely.
–
“If you are going to make a long trip, it is necessary to leave well rested, and stop walking every two hours to do exercises with the legs and facial exercises, to avoid drowsiness,” Peralta advised.
–
In addition, he recalled that in Río Negro, since 2018, the alcohol rate 0 applies for all drivers, so it is not advisable to drink alcoholic beverages if you are going to drive later.
Regarding the mechanical advice to take into account, the Commissioner stated that “before going out on the route, it is necessary to verify that the vehicle is in optimal safety conditions, check the brakes, steering system, tires and the mechanics in general” .
On the other hand, Peralta reported that “both the driver and the companions must wear the seat belt” and emphasized “the importance that children should go in the rear seats of the vehicle, and according to age, with the corresponding retention system ”.
Finally, it is important to emphasize the importance of having the regulatory documentation when it comes to driving, such as the driver’s license, motor vehicle identification card, current insurance, Compulsory Technical Review (RTO) and the necessary elements in case of any contingency, such as a First-aid kit, beacon, verified fire extinguisher, fireproof vest and flashlight.
