The update is intended to bring clarity about the recognition of ratings after the end of the transition period with regard to Great Britain’s exit from the EU on December 31, 2020. This was preceded by previous declarations by ESMA of 15 March 2019 and 9 November 2018. With this declaration, ESMA now confirms that the EU rating agencies will be able to confirm the ratings drawn up in the UK after the end of the transition period.
