JAKARTA, KOMPAS.TV – After being removed from his position as village head, Hermanto still denied receiving extortion from the public.
He reasoned that there had been a complaint to the Mayor of Medan, Bobby Nasution, because the residents did not like his leadership.
“I accept the decision of Pak Wali. (Is there any recorded evidence?) Andi did the talking. (People are complaining?) I never asked, maybe the people don’t like me anymore, that’s not a problem, ”said Hermanto to the media, Friday (23/04/2021).
Previously, the Mayor of Medan, Bobby Nasution, received reports from residents regarding illegal fees from village heads in East Sidorame Village, Medan.
In his trial, Bobby met directly with the head of the village and presented citizen witnesses.
On the recording played by Bobby immediately asked for confirmation.
However, the village head denied this and finally confessed.
“That’s right, the village head asked for money, around Rp. 50 thousand, to take care of papers,” said a resident who was presented by Bobby at the location.
“Sorry, sir, I’m not asking for that much, with all my heart …” said Hermanto, Head of East Sidorame Urban Village.
Suddenly Bobby laughed but was annoyed.
“Oh God, how could that be, sir, who taught you?” Asked Bobby to the head of the village.
“Tomorrow, we don’t have to be head of the village again,” said Bobby.
