Recent Patch and Updates for Counter-Strike 2: Gameplay, Matchmaking, Audio, and More

On the night of November 8, the developers of Counter-Strike 2 released a patch. With it, Valve representatives corrected many shortcomings of the maps and bugs of the game. The company’s developers shared information on the official CS2 blog on Steam.

List of changes and innovations:

Gameplay

Visual and audio feedback from the sub, such as movement acceleration and gun flashes, are now always displayed on the next frame. The random numbers used for the spray are now synced between clients and servers by default. This allows bullet trails to better match their server values. Fixed an issue where pressing the move key immediately after a jump would result in an inconsistent jump height.

Matchmaking

Four-player lobbies can now start searching in Premier mode. Added kick immunity to voting for players who are placed on the same team as a four-player lobby. Adjusted the algorithm for restoring ratings after a period of inactivity in Premier mode.

Audio

Reduced the maximum distance at which grenade bounce sounds are heard. Improved the quality of the occlusion filter. Fixed an issue where enemy headshot sounds could be mistaken for damage taken. Reduced the volume of damage sound from unarmored headshots from the victim to bring it in line with the volume of other headshot sounds. Changed landing sounds to be heard at the same maximum distance as footstep sounds. Changed the volume decay curve of jump landing sounds to better convey distance. Improved Molotov extinguishing effects ” so that they sound clearer when multiple sounds are played at the same time. The sound when defusing a bomb is interrupted due to the player’s rotation has been returned. Fixed a bug due to which, when very close, the dying sound made by the enemy could be mistaken for coming from the shooter player. Fixed a case where the M4A1-S without a silencer did not have distant shooting sounds.

Effects

Improved the effects of blood at close range. Improved visibility of the bomb illumination indicator from the back of the bomb. Reduced muzzle flash when quickly switching scoped rifles. Reduced the strength of the HUD effect after five kills.

Changes to the Mirage map

Fixed clipping on benches in “carpets”. The boxes on point A are now the same height as in CS:GO.

CSTV changes

Added tv_record_immediate command to control when CSTV starts recording content. If the setting is enabled, this will begin the moment tv_record is activated on the server. If the setting is disabled, content with tv_delay will begin recording earlier. CSTV demos can now be recorded without enabling CSTV Delay. You need to activate the “tv_record_immediate 1” command and write “tv_record” at the moment when recording should start.

Other changes

Adjusted the wear values of some decals to make them more in line with CS:GO. Fixed a bug with Workshop tools where the light_environment value would not create static shadows under some circumstances. Improved the quality of the HDR rendering mode in Performance mode. Loading enabled maps from the Workshop for the “Partners” mode.

Earlier, one of the fans of the shooter spoke about the main problems of the subtik, because of which the gameplay suffers. Gamer noted that the innovation does not work as the developers would like. You can read more about the extensive user research in this material.
