The Ministry of Food and Drug Safety recalled all of the products after receiving a report that mold was found in some of the baked eggs supplied to the ’25th World Scout Jamboree’.

The Ministry of Food and Drug Safety announced on the 3rd that it was recalling all baked egg products supplied to the Saemangeum World Scout Jamboree in Buan, Jeollabuk-do and is investigating.

19,000 of the problematic baked eggs were supplied to the Saemangeum Jamboree in the form of protein supplements. The previous day (2nd), a scout found mold in the product and reported it to the Jamboree Steering Committee.

As a result of the recall, mold was found in a total of seven products, and as the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety recalled all products, it was found that no one actually consumed them. The manufacturing point of these products is last July, and the expiration date is 90 days.

The Ministry of Food and Drug Safety is investigating the manufacturing and distribution stages of the product along with the Gwangju Regional Food and Drug Administration. The Ministry of Food and Drug Safety explained that there is a possibility that mold may have entered due to shock during the distribution stage.

The Ministry of Food and Drug Safety plans to increase the number of people inspecting food ingredients in the distribution center from three to six people, and to deploy 24-hour staff to manage food ingredients.
