The Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy’s National Agency for Technology and Standards (National Commission) announced on the 14th that it issued a recall order for one truck tire product that violated safety standards.
As a result of conducting a safety investigation on 25 products for mid- and low-priced trucks and buses, the National Institute of Parliament ordered a recall of one product that violated the durability safety standard and canceled KC certification.
Ten products that violate legal indications such as KC mark, tire type, and manufacturing date were recommended for improvement measures.
An official from the National Council said, “The tire for trucks that violated the safety standards had cracks and partial damage to the tires during the durability performance test.” said.
It was found that Kumho Tire imported and sold about 15,000 products from January 2019 to November this year from China’s Double Star.
The model name is’DSR668′ and the size is ’12R22.5′.

Truck bus tires are imported at an annual scale of 230 billion (about 1.1 million), and most of them are imported and distributed from China (65%) and Thailand (23%).
Users of the recalled product can check the recall information at the Product Safety Information Center (www.safetykorea.kr) and receive measures such as exchange or refund through Kumho Tire, an importer and distributor.
In the first half of next year, the NIS plans to expand safety investigations to tires for passenger cars and light trucks.
